The people of Zimbabwe are tired of being maltreatment by citizens of host countries where most of them are seeking for refuge. This issue has raised a whole lot of tension between Zimbabweans and the citizens of their host country. South Africa is not exempted from countries where Zimbabwean nationals are maltreated by citizens because their migrated in search of greener pastures.
For sometime now there has been serious agitation from groups like Operation Dudula and Put South Africa First Movement in a bid to compel SA government to repatriate Zimbabwean nationals which many believe are contributing to growing unemployment and insecurity ravaging the nation. On December 31st 2021, the South African government made a major move by cancelling the controversial Zimbabwe exemption permit which gave Zimbabwean nationals living illegally in the country the legal right to live and work for a period of four years.
However, the Zimbabwean Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs, Mrs Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri have advised Zimbabweans living abroad to come back home and exploit the numerous economic opportunities that are abound in the country courtesy of ZanuPF administration. She clearly stated that Zimbabwe has vast opportunities that would benefit all if only Zimbabweans both home and abroad would organize themselves and fully harness it. She made this statement while wishing Zimbabweans a new year felicitation on her Twitter handle.
