The people of Zimbabwe have been going through a whole lot of difficult time owing to the fact that the country has been under serious unilateral sanctions slammed on them by the international community due to the country’s leadership interference to democratic processes and institutions. The country’s economy is under serious threat as they are unable to do business with some first world countries because of the restrictions which makes it very difficult to do so.

Zimbabwean nationals on the other hand are migrating to other neighboring countries like South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia in search of greener pastures due to the economic meltdown back home. Meanwhile, Mr Simba Chitando who is a Zimbabwean born, South Africa based lawyer has lamented over the continuous damage done to Zimbabwe’s economy by unilateral sanctions. He claimed that the sanctions have caused harm to their economy and also led to loss of jobs.

He claim that Zimbabwe does not threaten the security of the United States and other countries that slammed the sanctions on Zimbabwe which makes him wonder why the sanctions have not been lifted since Zimbabwe does not pose any form of security threat to this countries. His comment is coming as a reaction to a statement dropped by the management board of Lafarge Cement which stated that the company is having so much difficulties because certain persons who has major shares in the company are among those sanctioned by the United States and other countries.
