The incident allegedly occurred after a fight earlier in the day, and Moakole returned from a beer drink at 2 am to find Matlhare injured.

He was later found by a passerby and pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. During her court appearance, Moakole requested bail in two to three days, but was remanded in custody until her status hearing on March 30th.

On the night of the incident, Donald Matlhare, a 47-year-old bricklayer who worked for the Francistown Council, was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend, Lillian Moakole, after a heated argument. According to reports, Moakole went out for a beer drink and returned home at 2 am to find Matlhare injured.

The injured man managed to drag himself to the front of the house, where he collapsed in a pool of blood and was later found by a passerby, who alerted the police. Despite their efforts, Matlhare was pronounced dead upon arrival at Nyangabgwe Hospital.

During her court appearance, Moakole remained calm and collected but did not offer any explanation or defense for her actions. She simply requested bail in two to three days, citing fear as her reason. However, the court remanded her in custody until her status hearing, which is scheduled for March 30th.

The case has sparked shock and outrage in Botswana, with many expressing their condolences to Matlhare’s family and friends. The incident also serves as a grim reminder of the rising cases of gender-based violence in the country.

As the case continues to unfold, authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the motive behind the stabbing and bring the perpetrator to justice.
