TV personality, Actor and Perfomer, Vinolia Mashego (V Mash) passed on at 56 years

RIP: TV personality and former Generations star, Vinolia Mashego also known as V Mash has passed away at 56 years.

The Industry has been thrown into the deeply sad state with news of passing away of a pioneer of South African Television, Vinolia Mashego popularly known as V-Mash, who became a leader of popular culture in the ’90s and will forever be remembered for breathing life into the soul of our nation.

Vinolia Mashego, the actress, presenter and businesswoman who made her mark in the South African TV industry in the 1980s and 1990s,

She passed away in her sleep on Friday 3rd April, but the news of her passing was only made public on 6th April. It is not clear what was the cause of death.

V-Mash, as Mashego was a prominent actress on SABC dramas in the 80s & 90s. But she became more famous as a presenter on Jam Alley.

She was known for her popular catchphrase she popularised ” Azange bangane azange ” Before her untimely death, Mashego was currently a host of Bheka Sik’bambile on Moja Love.

She was renowned as the original IT girl, one of the few black girls ton tv screen that was fierce, proud and sassy. At Jam Alley, she was very big. V Mashego was so much huge on-screen.

She was the Best presenter and best actor at her prime. V Mash could sing, present, and act perfectly. And for years, she was the beautiful young woman on the Close-Up toothpaste billboard.

Mashego at SABC was super-rich.

Long before those stellar performances as Hilda Letlalo on Generations, V-Mash featured in lead roles on
Bitso Lebe Ke Seromo.

Bophelo Ke Semphekgo.
She was a multitalented actor.

V Mash featured in a popular campaign called Eskom Elektrowise campaign. There she thought us how to save electricity.

The Arts and Entertainment Industry are currently sending their Condolences and Celebrating Vinolia Mashegos short-lived life.

V Mash was a trailblazer, who went through thick and thin.
