Three South African screen goddess Thusi, Nomzamo, & Thuso storms global stage.

How heart-warming is it to see women at the forefront of taking Mzansi to the world? There are a few films coming up in which some of our best actresses have been cast to play in. The likes of Nomzamo Mbatha, Thuso Mbedu and Pearl Thusi have amazing international projects lined up for this year.

These actresses have made names for themselves here at home, now it’s time to shine on the world stage. We can’t wait to see their project, as soon as they come out.

Pearl Thusi is not new to the international acting scene. The media personality and talented actress has bagged yet another role in an international series. She is currently in Thailand, shooting for the 2nd season of Netflix’s martial arts series, Wu Assassins. This is a Netflix Original supernatural martial-arts series created by John Wirth and Tony Krantz.

Nomzamo Mbatha

She is by far one of our biggest exports. American based, Nomzamo Mbatha has bagged herself a role in Coming 2 America. This is the sequel of the 1988 original film ‘Coming To America’ which follows the newly-crowned King Akeem, played by Eddie Murphy, and his right hand man Semmi, played by Arsenio Hall.

It goes without saying that Thuso Mbedu is the actress she thinks she is. Ever since bursting in the industry, the award-winning actress has been making waves. Thuso has bagged a role on the Amazon Prime Video series, The Underground Railroad.

She has been cast alongside American actors such as, Chase W.Dillion and Aaron Pierre in the 11-part series. Thuso will play the character of Cora. The series chronicles young Cora’s journey as she makes a desperate bid for freedom in the antebellum South.

We are very proud of their achievement, and hope they continue to represent Mzansi and Africa.
