Al Ahly arrived in South Africa earlier this week for their return fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns, and they were hosted by their former opponents, Kaizer Chiefs at the Kaizer Chiefs village.

It was recently reported by Jovaza that the Egyptian giants had asked Kaizer chiefs for a favor of training in Amakhosi headquarters while in the country.

Amakhosi have offered their utmost hospitality to the Egyptian giants, showing that they are not enemies to the country, but rather opponents in the beautiful game.

Al Ahly have been using Naturena to prepare for their showdown against Mamelodi Sundowns this coming weekend.

Ahly showed up at the Amakhosi preparing ground and completed their first instructional course at the Kaizer Chiefs Village on Thursday.

Using Kaizer Chiefs training grounds, Al Ahly have had the advantage to adjust to the conditions in South Africa. Al Ahly in Egypt are used to more cooler weather conditions unlike in South Africa where the temperatures are a bit high, something that may work in favour of the hosts Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kaizer Chiefs have been given the much deserved credit for their hospitality and shows a growing relationship between these countries. Amakhosi’s accommodation of Al Ahly doesn’t necessarily mean they are against Mamelodi Sundowns, but chose to make the travelers welcomed guests to the country.

Mamelodi Sundowns had the better of Al Ahly in their previous match when the Brazilians visited the red devils at Cairo International Stadium. It was a history making victory, with Thapelo Morena getting the first and the only Mamelodi Sundowns goal scored in Al Ahly territory.

For Pitso Mosimane and Percy Tau, they are two members of the Al Ahly squad who are familiar with the playing conditions in South Africa and their influence will be key in guiding the Egyptian giants to a competitive match against the South African champions.

Mamelodi Sundowns are already top of their group with 7 points, a victory over Al Ahly will surely be one foot into the knockout phases of the tournament and for Al Ahly it will be an uphill battle to try and work out a path to also qualify at least as a 2nd placed team.
