The increase in violent crime on the South African Police Service has become a serious concern in the country.

Guns recovered from a gang that killed a police officer have been linked to the Norwood police station in Johannesburg.

It’s alleged firearms meant to be in the police station’s store, were given to armed robbers and the main suspect in the case has died by suspicious suicide.

The Democratic Alliance Shadow Minister Of Police, Andrew Whitefield the Police is the easy target by criminal gangs.

Firearms belonging to the Norwood Police which is located at 12 Paterson road Norwood, Johannesburg, Guateng were found in the hands of criminals.

He says security measures at police stations are poor, making it easy for criminals to target them.
