Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) have successfully arrested seven male suspects aged 19 to 39 in Johannesburg CBD (Gauteng Province) after intercepting their plan. The suspects are currently being held in jail pending their court appearance.

The Flyingnewslive news report states that officers of the South African Police Service (SAPS) moved immediately this morning, Wednesday, 20 July 2022, after receiving intelligence information about a notorious gang planning to loot a shop in Hillbrow (Gauteng Province).

Seven suspects, ranging in age from 19 to 39, were arrested in Johannesburg’s central business district (CBD), and several unlicensed firearms and ammunition were found in their possession; the suspects are believed to have been involved in multiple armed robberies across Johannesburg; further investigation is underway.

The suspects are currently jailed and are expected to make a court appearance shortly on allegations of conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of firearms and ammunition without proper authorization
