A candlelight vigil will be held on Thursday for a Soweto mother who was killed in front of her five-year-old child.
24-year-old Nozipho Mabuza was shot and killed on Sunday, allegedly by her boyfriend, before he handed himself, over to the police the same day.
It’s understood Mabuza was apparently in the process of breaking up with her security guard boyfriend, Wilson Dlamini when the pair had a heated argument at their Dobsonville home.
Dlamini suddenly opened fire, leaving Mabuza for dead.
Community activists tell us Dlamini then forced a taxi driver at gunpoint to rush him to the nearest police station.
There, he handed himself and his gun over to the officers on duty.
Dlamini appeared in court this week charged with premeditated murder.
He will be back in court next week.
