The high rate of physical assault against girls in the country is so sad and touching. Day in and out, different reports of girls been killed keep surfacing on news media. According to reports this morning, Zibuyile Ngubeni, was allegedly bludgeoned to death with a hammer by her husband in Emmuas, Mhlathizi village, in Bergville. The man is accused of assaulting and killing his wife with an almost 1kg hammer.

The husband allegedly fled the scene after killing Zibuyile and he is still on the run. It is alleged that he continues to threaten her family members through phone calls. The motive for the murder has not yet been established. This same family lost one of their daughter to similar incident not quite long.As a girl, the type of man we choose to marry matters a lot in our lives.

We should endeavour to know the behaviour of whoever we choose to spend our lives with as husband and wife. Many men who are addicted 5o alcohol have formed the habit of beating their wives to stupor and when the case is beyond their control, they will resort to the use of hard objects which will eventually result to killing.
