One of the people who were in the house when former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, was shot will be in the witness box at the North Gauteng High Court on Monday, 12 September.
The cross-examination and re-examination of first second State witnesses Sergeant Thabo Mosia and Sergeant Patrick Mthethwa who were amongst the first to arrive at the crime scene was wrapped up on Friday, 9 September.
NEW WITNESS IN SENZO MEYIWA MURDER TRIAL
Meyiwa was shot at singer Kelly Khumalo’s home in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni on 26 October 2014. There were reportedly seven people in the house when the goalkeeper was shot namely; Kelly Khumalo, her sister Zandile Khumalo-Gumede with her then-boyfriend Longwe Twala, Gladness Khumalo, Meyiwa’s two friends Tumelo Madlala and Mthokozisi Twala.
The five men who are currently on trial Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Sifiso Ntuli were arrested in 2020. They all pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder, robbery, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The South African has been reliably told that the State will call its third witness, one of the people who were in the house the night Meyiwa was shot and will be testifying on Monday, 12 September as mentioned above.
