The South African president is about to perform an act that he hasn’t done in a while. Members of his cabinet are basically crossing their fingers since they are aware that tomorrow is not promised, only today is. Politicians’ careers can simply disappear overnight, as happened to people like the formerly supremely powerful Ace Magashule.

According to an IOL story, there will shortly be a cabinet change, and Home Affairs Minister Aaron Mostoaledi is expected to take General Bheki Cele’s place. Also, other reports claim that Cele will be transferred to another position.

It is just a matter of time before we are to see whether Cyril is just shuffling his deck of cards or will be disposing some of his trusted lieutenants. Some see Cele as an energetic Minister who has a hand on approach. Others however see him as someone who lacks vision and is not proactive. He is known for visiting crime scenes and failing to eliminate firearms from our communities.
