Three male suspects, aged 25 and 28, who were in possession of stolen items, have been successfully apprehended by South African Police Service (SAPS) officers. The suspects are currently being held in jail while a court date is set.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) members were on patrol early this morning, Saturday, November 3, 2022, when they reportedly observed a suspicious Toyota Bakkie near Vaalbank Village close to the Black Watlo mine west of Middleburg.
Officers stopped the vehicle and proceeded to conduct a thorough search, this led to the discovery of 600 litres of stolen diesel which were hidden in small tanks at the back, the suspects could not provide a satisfactory explanation of how they got the diesel and they were arrested.
The three suspects aged 25 and 28 are currently detained in jail, they will make an appearance at Middleburg Magistrate’s Court on 6 December 2022 for a formal bail application, further investigation is still ongoing.
