Teen sensation Uncle Vinny, real name Kabelo Vincent Ndlovu, is currently having the time of his life in Ghana as he performs to a welcoming crowd – until he decided to involve money.
In videos he shared on his Instagram live to his 754,000 followers, Uncle Vinny can be seen partying with Ghanaian fans at a show, when he takes out a few notes and prepares to throw them at the crowd.
While social media users argue the reaction would have been different in his home country, Ghanaians did not care to pick up the notes he threw at them. They only paused to look down at the notes and carried on with their business.
Uncle Vinny took a major “L” when he tried to show off his swag.
The SA dancer and entertainer – whose real name is Kabelo Vincent Ndlovu – was performing in Ghana this week.
But unfortunately for him, his teen sensation status has not crossed borders to the west-African country. Not only did the crowd seem unfazed by him, but they didn’t bat an eyelid when the 19-year-old threw a wad of cash at them!
UNCLE VINNY THROWS CASH AT CROWD
In a video circulating on social media, Uncle Vinny shows off a thick wad of cash to the camera – presumably in Ghanaian cedi – the country’s official currency.
Dripping in bling and wearing a Gucci bucket hat, the star then throws the money at the crowd, who continue their business as if nothing happened.
The video trended online and tweeps had a field day.
“Shem this kid fell off so bad… No one even cares about the R13.50 he’s throwing”
“He thought he was at zone soccer ground in the east on Christmas day”
“I blame Satafrikans. They hyped him up too much & forgot to school him about African countries”

Others offered explanations why Uncle Vinny’s move did not go down well with the crowd
“There’s a serious superstition in Ghana and Nigeria about money given freely like that. People there believe money needs to be worked for and earned, they don’t believe in money given freely, they say it carries a curse”
“He did that in an affluent neighbourhood and that’s not on…there are places he’d get the reaction he wanted but not that particular venue. Reading the room as a performer is key”
“Ghanaian slay queens move different, they are not impressed by peanuts like Mzansi slay queens”
