The Hawks members collaborated with home affairs and other law enforcement entities to secure the successful arrest of 37 year old foreign national male in Newcastle, Johannesburg (Gauteng Province). According to the saps news report, yesterday, Thursday, 12 January 2023 the Hawks members received a tip-off about the whereabouts of a suspect who is believed to be a notorious drug dealer, officers along with home affairs and other law enforcement entities went to the given address in Van Kampen Ville, Newcastle.

The house was raided by officers and they found cocaine powder, pieces of crack cocaine, jaw of crack cocaine and crystal meth with an estimated street value of R290 850. A further search in the suspects bedroom led to the discovery of R32 950 inside his mattress.

A 37-year-old foreign national suspect was placed under arrest and detained on charges for dealing in drugs and contravention of the Immigration Act, he is expected to make an appearance at the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court today, Friday, 13 January 2023.
