Due to the enormous catering cost, Gloria Bosman’s funeral had to be held in private. On Sunday, March 19, the funeral was held at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani, Soweto, but most attendees and members of the media were denied access. According to information provided to the SunTeam, the family decided to invite only immediate family members and friends at the last minute. Security officers with a guest list turned away everyone who wasn’t on the list.

Catering was too expensive, according to family spokesman Abram Bosman. “We decided to keep it private because of the caterers. They wanted to make money. Because the prices were too high, we needed to devise a strategy. We didn’t want anyone, especially the children, to go hungry.

He said that the funeral went well. Gloria as buried in the Heroes’ Acre at Westpark Cemetery next to the grave of rapper AKA. Abram, however, denied that anyone was turned away from the funeral location. No one was refused entry to the gate. I was there to ensure that individuals could enter. There were individuals admitted who weren’t close pals, he said. Following a brief illness, Gloria passed away on March 14th.
