John Boyega has touched down in Cape Town, South Africa, and he sure is loving the view from where he’s standing.
The actor shared photos from the top of the mountain. “In South Africa…” he captioned the post, “I don’t think I’m ever leaving,” he said, with a crying face emoji.
The actor is currently in the country filming The Woman King.
The film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, is inspired by true events that took place in the Kingdom of Dahomey in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The film, also starring Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu and Zozibini Tunzi, follows Nanisca (Davis), general of an all-female military unit, and Nawi (Mbedu), an ambitious recruit, who together fight enemies who violated their honour, enslaved their people and threatened to destroy everything they’ve lived for.
John Boyega will play King Ghezo in the film.
Thuso Mbedu has also been sharing “edge of the continent snaps” following her return to South Africa.
While the Star Wars actor’s been climbing mountains, Thuso recently visited the most south-western point of the African continent – the Cape of Good Hope.
