Somizi hints at being paid for the Ministerial cook-off, R150 000

Somizi Mhlongo trends on social media after hinting at being paid for the ministerial cook off show organized by the Tourism Department.

eNCA teased a show named Checkpoint, and it’s expected to air by 9pm on Monday.

Som and a representative from the Tourism department were asked how much the celebrity was paid for the show which held in May.

The representative said the radio personality wasn’t paid, but Som hinted at being paid.

The teaser has garnered lots of attention, as people await the airing of the full show in the night.

Sharing the teaser on social media, eNCA said: “The ministerial cook-off was meant to boost tourism but sparked public outrage. Businesses say the event featuring Somizi Mhlongo was a slap in the face. The department insists Somizi was not paid, but the entertainer says otherwise. #Checkpoint tomorrow at 9pm on #eNCA.”
