Media personality Somizi Mhlongo addressed the abuse allegations his estranged husband Mohale Motaung levelled against him in August 2021 amid his Idol SA return today.
SOMIZI ON ABUSE ALLEGATIONS
Mohale Motaung claimed Somizi Mhlongo physically and psychologically abused him in leaked audio clips that surfaced in August 2021. Aside from denying the allegations, Somizi has not spoken about the matter much, until now.
Somizi answered a question at a press conference regarding the abuse allegations. He said that his private life and work life are separate, but sometimes clash.
The media personality went on to say that he is innocent until proven guilty.
He said: “As you may have noticed I’ve never spoken about anything and I believe my private life is my private life. My work life is my work life, but sometimes those things also clash”
“So, I’m still standing there. I feel like I can’t say anything at the moment and I don’t want to say anything at the moment regarding that, but it was one of the toughest times of my life and my career, but we move forward and like they say ‘guilty until proven innocent’… no ‘innocent until proven guilty’ and also I would like to end it there,” he continued.
