SA radio host Da Kruk bags new gig in popular America radio show

South African music producer, DJ and radio host Kutloano “Da Kruk” Nhlapo has announced he is leaving South Africa for a better gig in Los Angeles.

Da Kruk is set to host a new radio show called The Syndicate Africa on California-based digital radio broadcasting platform, Dash Radio.

DA KRUK’S RADIO CAREER 

According to YFM, Da Kruk was one of the leading figures at the popular radio station before leaving in March 2021. He hosted a weekly dance show called The Players Club and an alternative show called The Sinday Social

As per Media Update, he also created the first commercial platform for amapiano called The Amapiano Hour

He has also won several accolades including the Content Producer of the Year award four years in a row. 

I think I have contributed all I set out to do when I joined the station in 2011 and after careful consideration, I’ve decided to close this chapter and take on new opportunities.” 

He also hosts a strictly amapiano radio show on the United Kingdom’s Drums Radio called AMA International

MAKING WAVES IN THE UNITED STATES 

Da Kruk is joining Dash Radio for a radio show that kicks off on Friday, 1 April. The award-winning radio host will be introducing the world to young African artists through his show, The Syndicate Africa. The likes of Snoop Dogg, Kylie Jenner and Lil Wayne have all curated shows on Dash Radio.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, 22 March, the award-winning radio host said it was surreal to be joining one of Hollywood’s most popular station radio stations. 

DA KRUK SHARES HIS EXCITEMENT

Da Kruk said he was first introduced to Dash Radio through a close friend of his and was a big fan of Snoop Dogg’s radio show.

“I am super excited to be broadcasting in Hollywood and creating an authentic gateway for young African artists to become the next global superstars on their own terms,” Da Kruk told Media Update.
