Raja Casablanca fans send offensive message to Nelson Mandela’s grandson

Fans of the Moroccan football club Raja Casablanca have sent a message to Nelson Mandela’s grandson, Ndaba Mandela after he referred to Western Sahara as Africa’s “last colony.” The message from the Raja Casablanca fans reads, “Little Mandela, the only colony left in Africa is Orania.”

Orania is a small, all-white town situated along the Orange River in South Africa. The town was established in the 1990s as a “self-determining Afrikaner community” and has been the subject of controversy due to its exclusionary policies towards non-whites.

The message from the Raja Casablanca fans has caused outrage among many, who say that it is deeply offensive and that it trivializes the serious issue of colonialism in Africa. The message has also been criticized for its apparent disregard for the plight of the people of Western Sahara, who have been living under Moroccan occupation for decades.

Ndaba Mandela, who is a human rights activist, has yet to respond to the message from the Raja Casablanca fans. However, many have called on him to speak out against the message, which they say is an attempt to silence the voices of those who are working to bring an end to colonialism in Africa.

As tensions continue to rise over the issue of Western Sahara, it is clear that the message from the Raja Casablanca fans is a reminder of the deep-seated divisions that still exist in Africa. It is also an important reminder of the ongoing struggle for self-determination and independence for the people of Western Sahara.
