Nomalanga “The Flame” Shozi has been confirmed as the new host of the upcoming season of Behind The Story, replacing original host, Pearl Thusi.

BET Africa took to Twitter on Monday, 20 September 2021, to share the first look of the fifth season of Behind The Story. 

The first look confirmed that Nomalanga “The Flame” Shozi is set to replace Pearl Thusi, who hosted the show for the first four seasons.

Reason for Removing Thusi

Thusi being replaced comes after a tumultuous fourth season, following the production being called out for interviewing Tol Ass Mo, who, at the time, was being labelled as a predator.

Now, it seems that the show is attempting to take a new direction. This is as the teaser revealed that this season is set to take on a carpool format.

Nomalanga Role

Nomalanga is set to be interviewing her guests while she takes them for a spin around the city in her car. Moreover, the show will also seemingly take on a lighter note to coincide with the new host’s bubbly personality.

The teaser also revealed that Zakes Bantwini, Doctor Khumalo, Bongani Fassie, Norma Mngoma, Reason and Gugu Khathi are some of the guests that are set to feature on the upcoming season.
