Popular South African writer  TV & Radio personality, Msizi Edgar Nkosi has reportedly passed away at the age of 34. According to reports, the former Ukhozi FM Mroza Buthelezi show Nethezeka Nokhozi’s producer & SABC1’s talk show Daily Thetha Head of Content lost his life in a fatal car accident.

In a verified statement posted on social media, the family confirmed the former Ukhozi FM producer died on Sunday after he was involved in a car accident.

The star’s family members asked for time and privacy to process their loss and said details surrounding his death and funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.

Msizi Nkosi biography

  • His full name is Msizi Edgar Nkosi
  • He was 34 years old
  • Msizi worked on popular shows 3Talk with Noeleen, Khumbul’ekhayaTake5 and Zola7 .
  • He worked as a producer at Ukhozi FM on their Nethezeka NoKhozi show until he was shown the door in 2016.
  • The star also penned a book titled I’m A Different Mess Than I Was Yesterday.

The novel focuses on Msizi’s humble KwaZulu-Natal beginnings to making it big in Johannesburg. The novel details the star navigating troubled waters from a young age.

It is with great sadness to inform you of the untimely passing of our beloved and admired brother, friend and colleague, Mr Msizi Edgra Nkosi.

He passed away today, the 15th of August 2021.

Sadly, Msizi was involved in a car accident and unfortunately, he did not survive.

The Nkosi Family would like to be given time to process this loss and request some privacy.

In his book, Nkosi chronicles various reckless incidents involving alcohol and other substances.

The first chapter opens with Nkosi lying in a coma in the ICU of a hospital and then traces back to the series of events that led him there.

After months of medical care, Nkosi was left with an imperceptible physical disability and typed his debut novel with just one finger.

Exposed to alcohol from as early as age five, Nkosi would get into trouble at high school for drinking, miss work (as TV producer of 3Talk) or go to work drunk.
