In recent months, South Africans have struggled to come to terms with the death of one of the country’s best hip hop artists. Kiernan Forbes, better known by his stage name AKA, was assassinated; and while the Forbes family has been trying to come to terms with the loss and heal from it, it appears that South Africans are not making it easy for them.
According to various media reports, the Forbes family is allegedly unhappy and heartbroken as a result of the discovery of an influx of Tik Tok videos in which millions of South Africans shoot content on the late rapper’s tombstone.
With each and every passing Day, a new video emerges whereby the rapper is blessed with a visit from South Africans across the country; doing all sorts of things on site.
This new trend has left millions of South Africans divided and with varying takes on the matter. While some see no wrong doing in what is happening as the rapper was an icon, and his tombstone is a tourist(giving fans an opportunity to pay their respects on their own time), others feel that the rapper should be left to rest in peace- and that the family should have opted for a private burial away from the public eye; to avoid the current commotion that is taking place.
What Is your take on the matter, is decent for South Africans to keep invading the cemetery grounds for “content” or should we let the deceased to rest in peace; giving the family a space to heal?
