The Moti brothers, Zila, 15, Zayyad, 11, Alaan, 13, and Zidan Moti that were kidnapped on 20 October 2021 in Polokwane are yet to be released. Experts had said that the negotiation with the kidnappers will be kept short before the release of the children.
Seven armed men, in two cars – a black Mercedes Benz and a white Kia Sorento – blocked the vehicle the boys were traveling in and fired shots before the boys were taken away. And that was the last trace. The 64-year-old driver was left to tell the story while the boys’ cellphones were later found dumped in Flora Park.
Meanwhile, violent crime specialist Mike Bolhuis has suggested that local kidnapping is a growing syndicate in transnational organized crime.
Bolhuis has told the public that the Moti brothers’ kidnapping suspects are competently skilled in the operation.
“You must take into consideration that these criminals are extremely professional. They do thorough investigations…” Bolhuis said.
“Their next step will be communication with the family. There will be serious threats.”
“As you have said what it does to parents, it’s heartbreaking. The negotiation will be short and the children will be released.
The expert concluded to offer a timeline prediction of when the Moti brothers can possibly be reunited with their terror-stricken family and friends.
“This can take anything between a month up to six months or sometimes a year. Cases we have dealt with could even run up to two years but they return unharmed.”
