Maritzburg United debunk sale rumour, threaten legal action against Mokoena

Maritzburg United has come out to rubbish the alleged claims from Free State Business man Lebo Mokoena sale.

In a written statement made available to our reporter, Maritzburg accused Lebo Mokoena of peddling falsehood and have threatened to report him to Premier Soccer League (PSL) and subsequently with legal action.

Th Chairman of the club Farook Kadodia reiterated that they have no intention of selling the club and never had any agreement with the Lebo to sell the club. He maintained that the club will continue to be nurtured and grow the brand in the city of Pietermaritzburg.

Maritzburg United rubbish outrageous Mokoena Group sale claim

Maritzburg United have this afternoon been alerted to concerning reports claiming that the club has been sold.

The directors of the club would like refute these unfounded ,baseless and false claims and records that there is absolutely no truth that the Team of Choice has been sold.

The claims made by Lebo Mokoena, CEO of the Mokoena Group, circulating on social! media that a sale had been agreed are false and the club would like to place on record that there is no agreement to sell the club nor have any discussions taken place with Mokoena in this regard..

Mokoena has previously made mischievous and false claims and the club takes strong exception thereto.

The club will be taking up the matter with the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and consider and pursue its legal options on the matter.

Furthermore, the Chairman Farook Kadodia has reiterated that he has no intention of selling the club and would like to reassure the fans as well as all stakeholders that he and his board are fully committed to growing the Maritzburg United brand in the city of Pietermaritzburg.
