DStv Premiership outfit Maritzburg United has announced a new sponsorship deal with non-governmental organisation Gift of the Givers.
“I’m pleased to announce a landmark partnership with renowned global human charity body, The Gift of the Givers Foundation,” said club chairperson Farook Kadodia at the unveiling on social media
“It is the first time that such an agreement has been signed by an African club, marking a unique chapter for football on the continent.”

“These are the core values of the Gift of the Givers. And they have always shared by us as a club.
“This opportunity now provides us with an excellent chance to fulfil this mandate of ours to help build a better South Africa.”
Meanwhile, Gift of the Givers founder Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, said: “We call on the citizens of our city to get behind our home-grown team as we wish them all the best for the new season with the firm conviction that they are going to excel, make us proud and serve as an inspiration for the youth of our society.”
Maritzburg will don the jersey for the first time on Saturday in an away Premiership encounter againt Baroka FC.
