Lindiwe Sisulu’s Strong Reaction After Being Kicked Out of Cabinet, Resignation Followed.

The ANC parliamentary council has been informed of Lindiwe Sisulu’s intention to resign as an MP. During President Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet reshuffle last week, Sisulu was removed from the executive branch for the first time since 1994. According to TimesLIVE, Sisulu was supposed to hand in her resignation to the ANC chief whip in the national assembly, Pemmy Majodina, on Monday.

After Ramaphosa fired her, Majodina stated that Sisulu advised her not to be redeployed anywhere, confirming her intention to resign. The majority of her former associates who were fired by Ramaphosa have been redeployed to parliament to serve on portfolio boards. Former ministers Nathi Mthethwa and Maite Nkoane-Mashabane, as well as former deputy ministers Thembi Siweya and Phumulo Masualle, are among them.

Majodina stated, “I contacted all members of the cabinet who were relieved to allocate committees, but comrade Lindi Sisulu said I must not allocate her a portfolio committee because she was resigning and I will receive her resignation letter on March 13 2023.” Majodina was referring to the cabinet members who were relieved to allocate committees.
