Khusela Diko ‘reinstated on a warning’ despite PPE ongoing investigations

Barely over one year she was handed suspension from all official roles in government, pending investigations into her role in a dodgy personal protective equipment (PPE) contract between her husband and the Gauteng health department, presidency spokesperson, Khusela Diko has been “reinstated on a warning”.

Diko Khusela who was reported involved in the PPE corruption with her husband has been given just a warning by the Presidency.

Recently, Jovaza reports that The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has confirmed that a senior finance official Babita Deokaran, at the Gauteng health department, who was shot and killed on Monday, was one of its witnesses in their corruption investigations involving the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the province.

Babita Deokaran, 53, was shot several times outside her complex in Mondeor, south of Johannesburg, shortly after dropping off her child at school in the morning. The department confirmed that Deokaran died on Monday afternoon. 

The 6 men have been charged with the murder of Gauteng Department of health official Babita Deokaran have appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on murder charges.

Many South Africans have taken to social media to register their displeasure over the incident.

Diko was charged with failing to disclose her financial interests, acting presidency spokesperson Tyrone Seale confirmed to newsmen.

Diko Khusela Husband

Recall, the husband, Chief Thandisizwe Diko II died after a short illness, the KwaBhaca Great Kingdom said in a statement on Monday morning.

He was 43 years old.

“Ingonyama Madzikane II Diko passed away in the afternoon of Sunday, 21 February 2021 in East London, following [a] short illness,” the kingdom said.
