Kelly Khumalo cancels appearance and performance at Garwe Restaurant, Zimbabwe in solidarity with her countryman and friend Somizi Mhlongo.
This is coming after the Zimbabwe Apostolic Christian Council wrote to ZANU PF demanding that Somizi Mhlongo from entering into the country due to his sexuality.
Kelly Khumalo has shown her support to her close friend Somizi as she declines the offer to be present at the Zimbabwe-based gig.
The church and political party Zanu-PF allegedly sent a letter to the president’s office blocking him from attending an event he was booked to appear at as a guest chef for the reopening of a leading restaurant on November 4.

The restaurant proprietor, Mandy Mvukwe-Chimhini, confirmed the news, saying that the Empini singer was booked for the event.
Kelly’s manager Khothatso Tsotetsi said that the singer received the same booking after his cancellation.
However, she had no idea what had led to Somizi being blocked when they were initially approached.
He added that after they caught wind of the Somizi debacle, they distanced themselves from the event and declined the offer
