I’m not down and out: Israel Matseke Zulu shuts down reports that he’s struggling for work

Israel Matseke Zulu has set the record straight on claims he is struggling to find work.

This after Daily Sun said the actor’s leg amputation earlier this year had affected his career.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Israel said the report was bogus and he had a lot in the pipeline.

“I’m not down and out, I’m a hustler and I’ve been hustling. What was written is not proper. It’s a wrong statement that can destroy my other associations.

“I’m not looking for a job. I know how to find work if I want to work. Gomora, they didn’t chase me, they didn’t fire me. Any time I’m comfortable, I can go there or any other place and tell them I want a job.”

Israel left Mzansi Magic’s Gomora late last year, requesting to be written off the show due to the “growing demands of the job” and his illness, which rendered him semi-crippled and made it difficult for him to give his all.

The actor battled with gangrene for seven years, which led to his left leg being amputated. However, he is adamant he’s still able to work because he is also a talented MC, kwaito artist and brand ambassador.

“After the experience of cutting my leg, obviously life won’t be the same, but I’ve never appeared in a newspaper asking for donations, I’ve never gone to a podcast asking South Africans to donate for me or whatever. I don’t want fans or people to feel pity for me. I’m a multitalented artist, I’m a big package.”

He’s now co-producing a film and has new music on the way, with a single launching on October 31, followed by an album.

“I’m an associate producer for a big global film … they will be shocked when they see. My music is very hot, it’s a killer album. I’ve never been so confident as I am now.”
