When Thabo Mbeki left office, attorney Vuyani Ngalwana claimed that he thought former president Jacob Zuma would have been a better choice, but it later transpired that Zuma was unfit for the position. He claimed that while Zuma was admirable in his own right, he lacked Thabo Mbeki’s aptitude for becoming president.
Making comparisons between Zuma and the current president, Cyril Ramaphosa, advocate Vuyani Ngalwana said he knew from the first time that Ramaphosa was bad for South Africa. He said he did not need any convincing to see that Cyril was going to be worse than his predecessors.”I believed Zuma would be better than Mbeki if only for the latter’s aloof disposition. I said so in an interview. He was, but in my view turned out not to be presidential material. So I was wrong.
I knew from the get-go that Ramaphosa was bad for South Africa as president. And I was right,” said advocate Vuyani Ngalwana.
