The Big Brother housemates took part in their first wager assignment on Thursday night. The stakes were huge because they had bet 75% of their weekly budget. The challenge was for the housemates to express themselves musically by rapping or singing about their past, present, and aspirations for the future.

40 minutes later, Biggie was not impressed. He questioned, “Was that the best you could do?” before criticizing them for using pidgin at home, skipping workouts, and dozing off while working, especially before an assignment.

He then announced that they had lost their wager. And while the housemates themselves may have enjoyed their performance (Head of House Mmeli gave them 80%), social media viewers had mixed views, with Nelisa, Nana and Jenni O being their least favourite presentations, and Kangaka Jnr, Yaya, Lukay, Yemi and Ebubu being their favourite.

A chastening experience, the loss may have deeper implications next week.
