Human trafficking chiefs taken down in Sunnyside, Pretoria raid

From the look of things in Tshwane, the DA-led coalition is giving lots of positive results.

Over the past few weeks, since it assumed office, some breakthroughs have been made of note in the fight against crime.

At a time when human trafficking has been on the rise, there is a need for the authorities to devise ways in which all this can be brought to an end The Gauteng Province has been one of the areas in which cases of human trafficking have been reported the most.

Despite the numerous calls being called to bring an end to these types of crimes, it seems as if the number of perpetrators continues to grow with each passing day. Human trafficking is one of a few crimes that deserve capital punishment.

According to a report which was published by the SAb fm News on the 2nd of January 2021, a team from the Hawks Serious Organized Crime Investigation made a major breakthrough. They descended at one brothel which was being run by four suspects, where an undisclosed number of human trafficking victims were rescued.

This brothel was located in Sunnyside, Pretoria and the Hawks made use of the assistance of officers from the Tshwane K9 unit to get some positive results. It was stated that the four alleged human traffickers were between the ages of 19 and 40, and they have some international links which made their operations sophisticated to unearth.

Our government seems to have been caught napping once again, as there seems to be some massive business going on in the human trafficking industry. Young women are being exploited for s*x by the human trafficking chiefs.

Such scary and traumatizing staff is being carried out by those who loiter in the streets daily. Unconfirmed reports claim that the four who got arrested are Nigerian nationals and they will be making an appearance in court soon.

It is however sad to note that if the suspects get good lawyers, they may get their bail soon and will be back in business.
