Duduzile Zuma has come to her father’s defense, claiming that his only crime was refusing to be a puppet of white monopoly capital. Duduzile Zuma claims that all ANC members are fed up with what is going on under President Cyril Ramaphosa’s administration. She said as a member of the ANC in good standing, she will be joining in the EFF’s national shutdown on the 20th of March.

EFF members are said to be combat ready for a national shutdown in spite of criticism from those who say they are trying to cause anarchy. “People who were tweeting that South Africans are not angry enough to protest against load shedding and everything going wrong in this country, now have an issue with the EFF planned protest,” they said.

Julius Malema, the Economic Freedom Fighters leader said his movement does not have any intentions of causing violence, but they are coming in peace as it is their constitutional right to protest.The largest South African taxi association has however given the Economic Freedom Fighters a stern warning against shutting down the country. This comes after EFF leadership engaged with them on this shutdown.

Duduzile Zuma reacting to this development by the taxi association, said the national shutdown will continue and that the taxi industry is a non factor. She adds that the taxi drivers and their families are part of the poor who are feeling the strain of load shedding.
