He alleges that the reason for his withdrawal is because of the threats and harassment he has received from the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria as well as the police and The National Prosecuting Authority . Advocate Teffo Malesela did not go into detail of what kind of threats he had been receiving.

He further stated that, even though he will be withdrawing as counsel, he will keep an eye on the case on behalf of Senzo Meyiwa’s brother.

Advocate Teffo Malesela who had won the hearts of many South Africans because of his stance against the Senzo Meyiwa case has withdrawn from the case.

During the time that the Senzo Meyiwa case was ongoing, Advocate Teffo Malesela had made a vow to ensure that the perpetrators would be brought to book. He also verbalised that he did not believe that the men he was representing were guilty of the crime.

Instead, he believed that there were other people responsible for the crimes and that the people who were in the house when Senzo Meyiwa was shot could help solve the case.
