Enhle Mbali Says The Court System Failed Her Over Protection Order Against Black Coffee

Enhle Mbali opens up about her journey of healing in the documentary ‘The Voice’ after she was denied a protection order.

Enhle Mbali, a popular South African actress, opened up about being a newly healed woman after the court denied her protection against her estranged husband Black Coffee in May 2021.

ENHLE MBALI ON HOW THE COURT SYSTEM FAILED HER

Enhle Mbali applied for a protection order against her estranged husband Black Coffee in March 2021.

This was after she accused the DJ of abusing her at her birthday party, but her protection order was denied by the Randburg Magistrate’s Court in May 2021.

At the time an emotional Enhle said she would be bringing “receipts” on her estranged husband, but she instead made a documentary titled The Voice.

“So the reason I made that documentary is that women are a lot of the time failed by the justice system. I am a believer that a man is meant to protect a woman but our country is in disarray because men have forgotten what the role of a man is and continue to not only harm the women but to harm women and children, who are not the weakest but need protection in society,” said Enhle to The South African.

“I’m a feminist, and sometimes I’m just real about this fantasy of what the role is between a man and a woman. The reason I did that documentary is I was emotional on the stairs of Randburg when I came back from court,” she continued.

Enhle referred to the video she made, but explained that she made a conscious decision to heal instead of breaking someone else down. The Voice is about Enhle being a newly healed woman and what her journey of healing was like.

The court system really failed me and when I came out I was so emotional and in pain and also in fear because I just didn’t know what would happen. I did a video and I had said I’m going to do a press conference but after sitting down and sinking in my emotions I thought there is no need for me to break anyone down. I made a conscious decision not to break anyone but to heal,” she added.

ENHLE’S JOURNEY OF HEALING

Enhle explained that she was on a journey of healing not because she was still in love, but because she had been through a lot. She added that she had to forgive herself.

“I had been through a lot in my marriage. A lot of trauma caused by my partner then, but I learnt to forgive myself and I had forgiven him a long time ago, but it was myself that I didn’t forgive because of some situations,” she said.

“So, The Voice was me just saying guys, I’m not going to fight. Whatever the universe hands to me, the universe is handing to me because God is strengthening and teaching me. So I am going to share that I am going on dates, that my heart is opened to love just like Pearl,” she continued.

Pearl Khumalo is the character Enhle plays on A Safe Bet. The actress is now focusing on the mental health of her children and herself.

I’m really just concentrating on the well-being of my children, their mental health until the divorce is done because it is not yet done and me too. Just being selfish just a little,” she added.
