The murder of DJ Sumbody in November of last year has left Mthembeni Ndevu, better known by his stage name Emtee, with nightmares. The recent murder of AKA fueled the flames. The death threat said, “Dj Sumbody is dead, You are next,” according to rapper Emtee. He claimed he wanted to increase his security.

He is quoted by TshisaLive as adding, “I got a communication from this enigmatic person. I blocked him the first time, and now he’s using a different number,” he continued, sharing a screenshot of a Whatsapp screen with TimesLIVE “You think you’re intelligent. I won’t skip even the smallest detail.

Emtee grew up in Rockville, Soweto, where he was involved in talent shows. His career began at the age of 17 signed by Ambitious Entertainment and his debut hit single, “Roll Up” was released in 2015 to critical acclaim.
