DJ CITI LYT CHILDHOOD
Sandile Nkululeko Mkhize, also known as DJ Citi Lyts is a Hip Hop DJ and Rapper. He is from Soweto, Johannesburg.
He took part in school activities such as Hip Hop & Pantsula dance group and also being part of his primary school choir.
He later formed a hip-hop group called “Flipside” at the High school he attended.
DJ CITI LYT CAREER
Citi Lyts had the opportunity to DJ when he met hip-hop artist F Eezy and worked with him as a DJ and hype man. He later went on to work with his brother, late Pro-kid, which assisted in further building on his skills as a DJ.
DJ Citi Lyt is known for releasing critically acclaimed hip hop music and Ambitiouz heavyweight Emcee, as well as performing at club events such as Black Orchard and Club Keys through the group “Flipside.
Since signing to Record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment, the talented DJ charmed hearts and moved bodies since his debut single titled “Washa” followed by the banging hit “Vura” which both received over one million views on YouTube.
Bagging nominations for Song of the year and Best Collabo at the South African Hip Hop Awards, as well as a nomination for the best hit single at the Metro FM Music Awards.
DJ Citi Lyts has since proved himself as one of the most promising hip hop DJs in South Africa.
Citi Lyts has headlined significant events such as the Black-Out event that took place in Namibia alongside celebrated rapper Emtee. With his single “Shishiliza” being a club favourite.
DJ CITI LYTS CAUSE OF DEATH
DJ Citi Lyt was shot and killed in an armed robbery at his Soweto joint in Vilakazi street.
According to a source close to Citi Lyts’ family, the artist was closing his joint at about 10 pm last night when a group of armed thugs pounced on him and fatally shot him 8 time and fled after robbing him of his cash.
Gauteng Police Spokesperson, Mavela Masondo said the police were still waiting for the details of the incident.
His father, Zwelakhe Mkhize, said he was unable to comment as he did not have the details.
DJ Citi Lyt’s brother, Pro Kid, real name, Linda Mkhize died in 2018 after suffering hemosuccus pancreatitis – which is a rare cause of gastrointestinal bleeding.
