The housemates will be acutely aware of the significance of the day when it dawns for the fourth time in the Big Brother house. They’ve bet a sizable 75% on the result of their wager task, and judging from their rehearsals, not everyone thinks this was a good choice.
Fair enough, some viewers find the teamwork to be amazing and report feeling good afterwards. Biggie will ultimately determine the result, but history is not on their side: in the past, a season’s initial wager presentation has generally been met with displeasure, which makes the 75% wager appear even more irresponsible.
Losing is bad enough but having to pick yourself up while also having lost three quarters of your income is a tough ask, indeed.
As head of house, Mmeli will really be feeling the pressure. Yesterday, Blaqboi and Thabang expressed their concern with his leadership, but he felt that micromanagement is not his job.
In fact, Mmeli has been a very laid-back head of house, repeatedly stating that it’s not his job to take people by the hand and tell them what to do, instead believing that they should use their common sense. One sympathises with his position, but reality might prove him a little too relaxed. So relaxed, in fact, that yesterday was the first time he even bothered to sit in the chair, and that was only at Big Brother’s insistence.
The wager task is not the only first happening today, though. There’s also the first pool party of the season, which is always something of a weekly highlight for viewers. Not to be indelicate, but it often turns out as a highlight for some of the housemates, too, and not just because they like to take a dip. With that much skin on display, it’s often an irresistible opportunity to shoot one’s shot with another housemate who’s caught one’s attention.
