Umsebenzi Wethu’ has been voted Amapiano Song of the Year at the South African Amapiano Music Awards 2021 last night at the Sandton Convention Centre.
Busta 929 and the late Mpura ft. Zuma, Mr JazziQ, Lady Du and Reece Madlisa took the grand price of R50,000 for the Song Of The Year Award with all the other category winners pocketing R10,000 each.
The maiden South African Amapiano Music Awards was graced by many South African celebrities who marched into the venue in their colourful outfits.
An electric performance by Kamo Mphela alongside her dancers changed the whole atmosphere for the audience.
Late amapiano stars, Mpura and Killer Kau who passed away unexpectedly in a horrific car accident while on their way to a gig were also honoured with an award following their outstanding contribution to the music genre.
