Jacob Zuma, a South African politician who served as the country’s fourth president from 2009 to 2018, was born on April 12, 1942. In addition to his given name, Msholozi, he also goes by the initials JZ.
From 2007 to 2017, he served as president of the African National Congress. He was previously a member of Umkhonto we Sizwe and was an anti-apartheid activist.
Zuma grew up all over Natal and the surrounding suburbs of Durban, despite being born in Nkandla.
Mother Geinamazwi and Father Nobhekisisa were both housekeepers. His Zulu middle name, Gedleyihlekisa, means “one who grins while harming you.” As far as I know, he didn’t go to a school of any kind.
Zuma has been married six times, which is not unusual for traditional Zulus. In 2012, the Daily Telegraph estimated that he had 20 children.
