DA MP, Phumzile van Damme has resigned as a member of parliament of the party and is reported to be leaving the Democratic Alliance. Van Damme brought out a statement on social media a few minutes ago to confirm the news
Phumzile van Damme says she wont be joining any other party and won’t be attacking the DA. She adds she isn’t leaving because the DA is a “so-called racist party” but because of a clique of certain individuals, whom she has not named. Van Damme says she leaves with a sore heart.
She says should the DA decide to tarnish her reputation, she will not engage in a back and forth with them.
The DA says it has accepted her resignation and wishes her well in her future endeavours.
