Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo also known as Nasty C was born on 11th, February 1997 in Diepkloof, a borough of Soweto, Johannesburg. After the passing of his mother who died in an automobile accident when he was just 11 months.
EARLY LIFE
He was raised by his father David Maviyo Ngcobo, who works as a human resources manager alongside his elder brother, Siyabonga Ngcobo, who inspired him to rap as he learned the basics of manufacturing tune from him when he was just nine years old.
BRIEF INTRODUCTION
NASTY C popularly known as the COOLEST KID IN AFRICA is surely one of the best rappers from the continent. Nasty C has solidified himself as one of the biggest acts within and outside the South African music scene. From clinching a PUMA endorsement and a global collaboration with French Montana to scooping the largest awards in the USA, he maintains to dominate local radio airwaves with hit singles which include “Hell Naw”, “right ladies”, “Snapchat Hoes”, “permit” and his modern-day launch “U adequate”. His EP terrible Hair.
Ngcobo attended Strelitzia Secondary faculty in Lotus Park, Durban where he finished his 12th grade. At the age of fifteen, Ngcobo released his debut mixtape One kid, a 1000 Coffins on 14 May 2012.
HIS JOURNEY
Nasty C launched his first mixtape, One Kid a Thousand Coffins in 2012 observed via his sophomore undertaking titled L.A.M.E EP.
He then launched his EP L.A.M.E (Levitating Above My Enemies) on four April 2014, followed by his second mixtape on 10 February, titled fee metropolis which produced the successful single “Juice again” that raised his prominence.
“Juice returned” later spawned a Gemini primary-produced remix proposing singer Davido and rapper Cassper Nyovest on 20 November 2015. He became additionally featured on Anatii and Cassper Nyovest’s collaborative single “jump” in 2016.
BAD HAIR (ALBUM)
Nasty c released his single “Hell Naw” on 11th February 2016, which was supposed to become to be the lead single from his upcoming debut album. Mabala Noise Entertainment on 23 September 2016 released his debut album Bad Hair.
The album artwork was one of the most creative things ever as he gave his lovers on Twitter to e-mail him their graphics showing their bad hair intervals, he then blended all the pictures in a creative way assembling his face.
Bad Hair was very huge as it reached number one on iTunes in local charts and in turn, became the most-streamed album in South Africa within its 24 hours of release.
Ngcobo launched a 14-minute film offering 3 songs from bad-hair which was directed by Kyle Lewis. The short music video had tracks like “Don’t Do It'”, “Good Girls and Snapchat Hoes” and “Phases” featuring Rowlene, which later became commercially featured in several international countries including France, Germany, UK, and America, as an African video.
2017 COKE STUDIO
Nasty C makes a debut on Coke Studio Africa 2017, where he is paired along with the Nigerian artiste Runtown on a very viral song titled SAID. The track is currently the biggest track to ever come out from coke studio.
2018: Strings and Bling
Ngcobo released the prolonged version of bad Hair On 2 December 2016, which named Bad Hair Extensions. Bad Hair Extension had new 4 songs consisting of the lead single ‘Allow’ which featured the American rapper French Montana.
AWARDS AND NOMINATIONS
In 2016 and 2017 Nasty C had a very successful year, which earned him the biggest nomination. Ngcobo acquired his biggest nomination which changed into for the 2017 BET Award for Best International Act: Africa Act: Africa, which he lost to Wizkid.
Ngcobo became was also nominated for the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards. He was ranked 3rd on the 2017 MTV Base: SA’s hottest MCs.
Ngcobo pre-launched singles, on 1 June 2018, “Jungle” and “King” featuring American rapper A$AP Ferg, from his sophomore album, Strings, and Bling. Strings and Blings album was then launched on 6 July 2018 both on digital and offline.
TimesLIVE magazine named the album Strings and Bling as one of the best hip hop albums in South Africa, and also protected within the listing of hip hop albums on Tina magazine.
The album’s other singles include “SMA” featuring Rowlene, and the promotional single “Gravy”.
HIS RECORD LABEL
Ngcobo floated his very own record label, called ‘’Tall Racks statRecords On 20 August 2018. He signed his long-term associate Rowlene as the first act to sign under the Records, alongside himself.
On 6 October 2018, Ngcobo kickstarted his The Ivyson tour at the Melrose Arch in Durban. The tour was 5 events at different locations (4 in South Africa and one in Namibia) which turned out to be a massive success as the venues were filled up fans.
Ngcobo kickstarted 2019 in a very good note as he was named as the ambassador of the male grooming corporation, axe South Africa.

On 20 September 2019, Ngcobo made the third installment of his live performance tour, The Ivyson tour, which kicked off in Cape Town, Western Cape.
On 27 September 2019, he launched “God flow” which he featured rapper CrownedYoung.
The lead single of his upcoming 3 studio album, Zulu Man With Some Power. He has hinted that many international artists might be going to appear on the album.
Nasty C has hinted to his fans about his upcoming album with an artistic painting on his Instagram. This is the most well thought out album that had about 47 songs, which he has trimmed to 16 hit tracks.
NOMINATION IN 2020
Nasty C, MI Abaga, and Youngsta CPT, have been nominated for the Rapper of the Year award at the Ugandan 256 Hip hop Awards 2020 – The awards scheduled to take place in May of this year.
The album ZULU MAN WITH POWER does not have a specific date for the release, but it is safe to say that it worths the wait as the coolest kid in Africa is about to blow his fans away.
