Yesterday’s Diary Sessions found Housemates sharing their latest reflections on where they stand in the House.
Friday afternoon’s Diary Sessions granted Biggie some access into what the Housemates are thinking in terms of strategy, relationships and emotions. As a new round of Evictions looms on Sunday, many of the Housemates are feeling the heat.
For the Nominated, it’s the possibility of being sent home. For those who are safe, it’s the realization that they will likely find themselves in the Top 10 come Monday morning.
In the Sessions, Biggie asked the Housemates about shopping chaos, the Wager Task and crumbling relationships.
Here are some of the hottest revelations.
GASH1
First of all, Gash1 would have us know that he’s definitely not the wildcard. Ever since Vyno planted the idea, theories have been doing the rounds in the House about the identity of the said wildcard.
If there is indeed such a person, Gash1 thinks it would be Nthabii.
He also shared that over the past five weeks, he’s slowly drifted apart from Mphowabadimo, Libo and Terry, but is confident that these relationships can still be rehabilitated. There’s also the fact that he can’t to wait to party with Norman when this is all over.
TERRY
Terry said she believes the reason why her friendship with Sis Tamara is strained is because Sis Tamara moved prematurely based on assumptions.
Sis Tamara, she reasoned, might have gone through an experience in her life where a friend’s romantic partner took them away. As such, she was triggered by Vyno‘s arrival, which led to the big blindside. She is, however, working on relationships with Tulz.
MPHOWABADIMO
When asked whether she has a message to send to any of the Evicted Housemates, Mphowabadimo got teary. She shares with Biggie that the departures do take a toll on her, as she finds herself reaching out to the leaving Housemates.
Mphowabadimo has been perceived as rather reclusive, spending almost all her time with Nthabii. As far as relationships are concerned, she says a serious conversation between her and Thato needs to happen.
She’s also mending fences with Gash1 and Themba. Sadly, she doesn’t see a rekindling of the deep connection she once had with Libo.
NALE
Some of the Housemates feel that Nale is too relaxed, a perception which came up a lot when she got Nominated last week.
What she won’t do, however, is take part in any hysteria in the House. She doesn’t want to live in the House “like it’s Armageddon every day”.
She also shared how she feels Tulz should probably chill a little, because it’s quite clear he’s become too emotionally affected by the game around her. Her best relationship in the House right now, is with Venus.
NTHABII
Nthabii cannot believe she has come this far. And when Biggie asked her what would she say to herself if she had an out-of-body experience, she got emotional and started shedding some tears. She says she can only get through the highs and lows of the life in the House with God’s help, as she cannot do it by herself.
She thinks Tulz changes according to context; he’s less approachable when he’s around certain people. She wishes Dinkybliss could have stayed longer. And, if there would be a wildcard, she reckons that would be Gash1. She feels he presses buttons so much that it makes sense.
SIS TAMARA
Sis Tamara will be standing up for possible Eviction for the first time on Sunday. This makes her anxious and fearful. However, she describes the feeling as “bittersweat”, because she really wants to know how it feels like to be up for possible Eviction, and (hopefully) survive.
She also revealed that she doesn’t keep any hard feelings toward Tulz, who did not return the favour during the Nominations. “I see him as a big brother.”
TULZ
He may not be new to the HoH throne, but Tulz has admitted that this time it’s different. The thing is; he was the first to have held it down this season. Only, there were far more Housemates back then.
People still didn’t know each other. Now, however, his reign comes at a time when he remains the only Housemate to have never been up for possible Evictions. Not only that, he made the move to save Terry instead of returning the favour to Sis Tamara, who has saved him twice.
He then used his Veto Power to replace Terry with Thato, whom he’d been smooth talking for a minute. This term as a leader has been far more stressful, Tulz admitted, as relationships are strained.
THATO
Unfortunately, the relationship between Thato and Themba doesn’t seem to be improving. “Themba and I aren’t close anymore”, she shared. The feeling might be mutual, as Themba recently told Gash1 he fears that Thato is too “weak” to join their alliance.
Now that Yoli and Norman have been Evicted, her most solid relationships in the House have been uprooted. In spilling tea, she also went into how Terry and Sis Tamara’s friendship has crumbled.
THEMBA
For Themba, it’s all about being focused on the game. And for him, that means remaining as guarded as possible.
He shared that he is working on getting to know Gash1, with whom he recently cultivated an alliance. Notwithstanding, he is careful not become too emotionally attached in the House. “I’m a lone ranger”, he shared. “I’m rolling alone”. Although he hopes to work on some relationships in the House, such as the one with Mphowabadimo, he doesn’t want to suffer the fate of slumber.
For this reason, he thinks friendships in the House will soon crumble. Mphowabadimo and Nthabii, and Tulz and Libo, will soon find themselves having to put these friendships on ice for the R 2 million.
VENUS
Venus remembers that she needs to be focusing on playing her own game. She also wishes to have spent more time with the likes of Mvelo, Yoli and Acacia. To Acacia, her message was that she’s “giving her daughter a thousand kisses,” for Mvelo to enjoy his new life outside, and for Yoli to remain “the dramatic Queen radiating”.
