Babes Wodumo, Gqom Queen’s Biography

Bongekile Simelane, popularly known as Babes Wodumo is a South African musician, songwriter, Choreographer and also known as Gqom Queen, and Wololo.

Babes Wodumo was born on July 26, 1994, in Durban, South Africa, LamontvilleSouth African. She appeared in Black Panther: The Album on a song called “Redemption”. Was also nominated for the 2017 BE4 Award for Best International Act: Africa.

Wodumo is reported to have a net worth of $500,000, She was born to Welcome Simelane and was in a relationship with Mampintsha.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE

There was a report on domestic violence on Babes Wodum on the 3rd of March, 2019, from her then-boyfriend and manager,Mampintsha Maphumulo. Babes Wodumo made the incident known through her social media network when she made a broadcast of the beating live on the Instagram live. Mampintsha was later arrested on the ground of assault and she ended the relationship at that point.

Controversy

The Gqom Queen came under heavy criticism for body-shaming Lady Zamar which she later came out and claimed that her Twitter account was hacked. After that, she claimed that her Twitter account was hacked.

Just recently she got involved in a controversial tweet with Cassper Nyovest were accused him of not being able to pay his bills,

She tweeted thus; 

‘’King Monada donated R50k to street vendors. You need to shut up and pay your outstanding bills sometimes.’’

Wodumo knows how to get into controversies as it seems like she enjoys the attention. she recently called for violence against the Police and Army through her social media account. she tweeted thus, ”if a police/army hits you, hits you back”.

This attracted a lot of criticism, as people asked why she didn’t hit back at her ex-boyfriend who violated her, while some wondered if hr account has been hacked as usual.
