An 84-years old woman has been defenselessly and brutally tortured with a blow torch by a group of eight men. They attacked her on her farm situated at Leeufontein in Bronkhorstspruit during the early hours of Thursday. She was unfortunately burnt on her hands and feet.
Captain Kay Makhuebela, the Police spokesperson said the eight still unidentified men forcefully gained entry to the property, waking the elderly woman up with a torchlight pointed directly into her eyes, aggressively searching the whole house in quest of valuables.
According to him, the old woman was dragged with her hands and feet burnt with a blow torch and left locked in the bathroom.
“The 84-year-old woman was dragged, and her hands and feet burnt with the blow torch. She was left in a locked bathroom.
“Her employee was also tied up at the back of the house, and the suspects drove away with the victim’s Ford ranger bakkie, household possessions, and cash,” Makhubela said.
Police attended the scene on Thursday, 04 November 2021, at about 00:30.
He said the injured woman was taken to a hospital for medical assistance.
Speaking further, Makhubela, police jumped into action to trace the group of men responsible for this heinous attack.
“The intelligence team, Bronkhorstspruit Detective, K9 and Tshwane District Trio task team went out to trace the suspects, and on the same day at around 09:35 managed to arrest three suspects, two males, and a female.”
He added that the suspected stolen properties were recovered in Rethabiseng Ext 5, Bronkhorstspruit, during the arrest.
“A Ford Ranger bakkie was recovered in Ekangala policing precincts abandoned.”
