ANC NGC Will Not Remove Me” – Cyril Sends A Strong Message

There is swirling speculation that the RET Forces and those aligned with Secretary-General Ace Magashule are plotting to unseat President Cyril Ramaphosa at the upcoming ANC National General Council, he has swiftly come out to quell that talk.

Ramaphosa who was laying wreaths on the graves of former liberation strugglers Winnie Mandela and her Daughter Zindzi Mandela in Four Ways this morning, was as ever poised in his approach, saying there is no chance he will be removed as the president of the ruling party.

He explained in detail the purpose of a National General Council meeting, saying it is not necessarily about removing and installing of leaders, rather a chance for the party to renew its policies and

“NGCs are not about removing or installing anyone. The NGC is about renewing our policies, the implementation and where we are and thereafter we hold our policy conference, and thereafter we hold a leadership electing conference, which is in 2022,” Ramaphosa told media.

There is a sense that the RET Forces would attempt to remove the president as their huge Ally, Magashule faces an uncertain future as the SG, this after he was given only 30 days to step aside or face suspension by the highest decision-making body, the NEC this past weekend.

Do you think Ramaphosa would survive a ploy to remove him at the NGC considering he has not been able to implement any of the policies the party adopted at the Nasrec conference?
