Panyaza Lesufi and Lebogang Maile have both accepted nominations for the chairperson position at the Gauteng ANC provincial conference.

Those nominated along with the two were from each of the preferred slates – Maile’s “Adiwele” slate and Lesufi’s “Renewal” slate.

They include Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko and Mzi Khumalo for the position of deputy chairperson.

For the provincial secretary position, three names were nominated: former provincial secretary Jacob Khawe, Ekurhuleni regional secretary Thembinkosi Nciza, and Sedibeng regional chairperson Thulani Kunene.

Delegates nominated Nomathemba Mokgethi for deputy provincial secretary. Tasneem Motara accepted her nomination for deputy provincial secretary, which was raised from the floor.

Former Gauteng health MEC Bandile Masuku declined a nomination for the treasurer position. Instead, Morakane Mosupye accepted the nomination for the position from the floor.

Delegates will now vote and results are expected on Sunday afternoon.
