After 2 years SA’s biggest summer festival, Corona Sunsets Festival, is back this weekend

Promising all that the discerning party-goer has come to expect from the Corona Sunsets Festival, this year’s event – taking place in Clifton, Cape Town on April 9th – will once again present spectacular views of the mountain and ocean along with a variety of interactive experiences to locally sourced, organic, craft food and art vendors.

Certainly, though, it is the music lineup that has made this event the highlight of the South African music calendar, and this year the world-class line-up, offers a blend of some of the world’s best DJs and stellar local supporting acts.

These include international artists such as German DJ/producer Claptone, Grammy-nominated English DJ/producer, Elderbrook, and, German “super house” duo AndhimIconic South African dance artists include Zakes Bantwini – the man behind “Osama”, aka the song of SA’s summer – Sun-El Musician and Msaki, Goodluck, Bantwanas, and Gina Jeanz.

“Along with the amazing music line-up, there really will be so much for everyone to enjoy, from making Corona cocktails to artisanal food stalls, drum circles and the Corona Village of the Free Spirit. Not forgetting the Corona Sunsets goddesses who will inspire dance moves as you celebrate good music, good friends, and the molten glory of the sunset moment with African drumming,” said event organiser Shaun Duwe.

Interactive elements which will take place include a sustainability Pledge Archway, complimentary Face & Body Painting, Hair Pieces, Henna Tattoos, Corona Studios Cinema (featuring the short form documentary Between San & Insanity), underwater virtual reality experience Into The Blue, t-shirt screen printing, bracelet making, surfboard crafting and the Corona Surf Shop.

The Corona Sunsets Festival is also the most sustainable festival in the world with the last festival, in 2019, 99.8% plastic free.

For everyone’s safety, all guests and ticket holders will be required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test to enter the events.
